hey nate, i really like the picture of the multicolored temple. it must have been incredible to see in real life. i can't quite get a feel for the scale of the building; how large is it and can you enter?
You can enter just about any temple in a big city. There are a few special temples scattered around that are off limits except to special devotees. And then you're not supposed to go into the room that houses the statue. Only the priest is allowed in there.
As for the scale, that multicolored temple is probably about 30 feet tall. Definitely not one of India's largest. It was just another random temple on a Bangalore street corner.
Seriously, there must be hundreds of thousands of temples, maybe millions depending on what you consider a temple, scattered all across India.
